FAQ’S

F.O.C.U.S. is a community-driven program that places a premium on the safety of students during their daily commutes to and from school, effectively reducing the likelihood of exposure to violence.

Safe Passage is regarded as an essential measure of violence prevention, which has far-reaching benefits spanning the entire community, including students, schools, parks, parents, and business owners.

Gun incidents, hate crimes, intimidations/threats and various concerns have increased in LB. Unfortunately, safety concerns go unanswered despite the community voicing

Concerns:
> Rising rates of gun violence and increased homicide rates.
> Reports of poor racial relations.
> Harassment of youth with special needs.
> Increased gang activity and hate crimes.
> Poor police and community relationships.
> Increased traffic fatalities.

Increase the number of students walking to and from school safely and reduce incidents of violence or injury for students in Long Beach.

By conducting safety workshops through the implementation of the “F.O.C.U.S.” Safe Passage Program model”
> Increase social connections in communities
> Increase the perception of safety in the community.
